Types of People I am Avoiding for my Sanity
Yes, I am basic. Yes, I have made a listicle. No, I am not going to pretend to be my most creative self in this horrible pandemic.
Recently, being COVID-19 positive and getting exposed to heart-wrenching news every minute messed up my mental health big time. To add to my woes, I have come across some really bizarre opinions from people, that just make me scream “WTF is wrong with you?” I have actively decided to mute such people from my life, if not block. Here is my definitely not an all-inclusive list of such parasites:
1) The ones who say, “Situation in India is not as grim as it is being projected in international media.”
2) The ones who say, “COVID-19 does not happen to people who have positive thoughts and an optimistic attitude.”
3) The ones who say, “Don’t blame government for the situation. Our leaders are doing the best they can. What are you doing for this country?”
4) The ones who say, “Masks are the reason behind all the lung infections. People are blocking fresh air from entering their lungs.”
5) The ones who say, “People who volunteer do not have demanding jobs. That’s why they can find time to do what they are doing.”
6) The ones who say, “This is a pharmaceutical/healthcare industry conspiracy. They have manufactured the virus for profits.”
7) The ones who say, “This is all a hoax.”
8) The ones who say, “I wish I get COVID-19, so I can take a 2-week vacation at home without being questioned.”
9) The ones who say, “Don’t listen to doctors.”
10) The ones who say, “We don’t need vaccines. We just have to wait the virus out.”
11) The ones who say, “I cannot stop living my life just because there is a pandemic going on.”
12) The ones who say, “COVID-19 is not such a big deal. I had it and my symptoms were very mild. Everyone is exaggerating it.”
13) The ones who say, “No one I personally know has got infected. I don’t think it is that widespread yet.”
15) The ones who say, “Vaccines should not be free for all. People who can’t pay, should not get it.”
